Media Aide to the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo -Addo has challenged President John Dramani Mahama to prove thievery allegations levelled against him by Nana Addo.

The President who in recent times has come under siege for making insulting comments about the Flagbearer of NPP, told Paul Adom Otchere on Good Evening Ghana that Nana Addo has consistently referred to him as a thief.

But speaking on Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, Mr. Eugene Arhin dared president Mahama to back his claims with facts and stop throwing dust in the eyes of the public just to gain political points.

He wondered why the president could not mention the circumstance or place the leader of the largest opposition party described him as thief.

Mr. Arhin expressed worry that a person of his calibre would make such ‘unfounded’ allegations.

‘I dare him to prove it, I was surprised when I heard the president saying Nana Addo has called him a thief, I was hoping he could have mentioned one instance or example, because in this day of social media, you can’t make a comment and get away with it, Nana Addo has never ever ever called the president a thief, it’s sad if we have a president of the land making unfounded allegations against the leader of opposition party, I mean it’s sad, I dare the president to come out and tell us where Nana Addo said he was a thief, I dare him,’ he charged.

He said the president is a clear failure, saying until the latter solves pertaining issues bedevilling the nation, they will continue to call him and his government ‘incompetent’.

Touching on the president’s comments that Nana Addo is being primitive on his one-dam-one-village idea, he wondered why the president has joined the bandwagon, by throwing dust in the eyes of the public.

Eugene Arhin advised the president to hold his horses, saying history has always proved NPP right.

‘The president is clearly doing politics, if you hear a policy that is resonating with the people; certainly you do your best to distort it by throwing dust in the eyes of Ghanaians. This is clearly indication that this person has no vision,’ he asserted.

He disclosed that Nana Addo after ending his ten-day campaign tour of the Northern region on Sunday, has returned to Accra.

‘Everywhere we went, with regards to the over thirty constituencies throughout the three Northern Region, the reception was extremely good, we are encouraged by the enthusiasm shown by the people, we are encouraged by the endorsements, we are encouraged that by December if we do our work well, we are confident of getting a very good outcome. We are currently in Accra, preparing for the first phase of the tour,’ he expressed satisfaction.
