The NPP chairman for the Madina-La-Nkwantaman constituency, Eric Nartey Yeboah has bemoaned the politicization and commentaries on the alleged coup plot, saying it is a recipe for chaos.

In a Facebook post the NPP constituency chairman, who is also a peace and security expert, , said he is not impressed about how the issue of the alleged coup plot is handled. He questioned the capacity of senior journalist, Kwaku Baako Junior, to acquire audio visual evidence of the plot and the purpose for which such information was given to him.

He further suggested that the information minister is not the best person to communicate the issues surrounding the coup plot to the public since according to him, that would fuel partisanship in the discourse. He noted that the security agencies must be left to deal with all communications relating to the matter.

The popular NPP Chairman also known as Chairman dollar, jabbed ex president Mahama for seeking to ridicule the alleged coup plot, saying that coup plotters hide their identity and use Improvised Explosive Devices to achieve that end.

n a world fast engulfed by terrorism; and a country sharply divided along partisan political lines; we have no reason to treat any suspicious illegal arm deals as normal. Let’s use axe, bow and arrows to ax these traitors.

For the notice of those who must know;terrorist and coup plotters hide their identity as much as they could, they use Improvised Explosives Devices(IEDs) to conceal their traces. Such devices may not be sophisticated but could still injure, hurt or kill. And this is what I’ve seen the security agencies uncover with this alleged coup plotters. Self manufactured guns and explosives that have no serial numbers.

So a former president without knowledge in security issues must not ridicule the coup preparation simply because their devices are rudimentary.

I am devastated by the commentary so far ; what locus has my senior brother Kwaku Bako in watching the audio visual evidence of the plot? As a lawyer, security expert or what? Let us be careful! Minister of information is not the appropriate person to communicate this to us. The security agencies, who have the expertise in this area must be those communicating the details of the issue to the public in order to avoid politicization.

It is not by coincidence that the EI in their recent release projected a possible terror attack on Ghana? Let those who take political advantage of every situation do so but let’s deal with the current situation as serious as US dealt with 9/11.
