Fumesua, (Ash), Oct. 13, GNA - Mr Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, an aspiring member of parliament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ejisu-Juaben has called on party activists to avoid remarks that would inflame passions and create confusion during the elections this year. He said they must rather listen to educational programmes so as to be abreast with current issues and explain them better for the electorate to understand.
Mr Aduomi was addressing a youth forum organized by Nana Ohene Annor, an NPP activist for Research and Organization at Fumesua in the Ejisu-Juaben Constituency at the weekend. The occasion was to draw programmes and to evolve strategies to ensure one-touch victory for the party in the December presidential and parliamentary elections.
He urged members and supporters of the party to exhibit a high sense of responsibility and maturity by being tolerant during and after the election in order not to draw back the nation's development. Mr Aduomi said Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who was attracted to the youth would succeed President Kufuor saying, "Nana Addo has youthful skills and understands the youth better than all the presidential aspirants hence his choice of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate''. Nana Annor told the foot soldiers of the party to work hard to capture at least 85 per cent of total votes in the constituency for Nana Akufo-Addo and Mr Aduomi in the December polls. He asked the youth to educate themselves on what the country had gone through and where the country found itself now and let the voters be aware of the truth about which political party really cared for the people. Mr Charles Owusu-Ansah, the constituency First Vice-Chairman of the party urged the youth to embark on a house-to-house campaign to ensure one touch victory for the party.
