NPP UK & Ireland Press Release

JOHN AKLOGU TIA ,ANOTHER TEAM B MINISTER GIVING A TEAM B PERFORMANCE

NPP UK and Ireland is today telling Mr John Aklogu Tia and his Team B colleagues that if this is the best he can come up with then Zita Okai Koi , the queen of Team B ministers should come back to the information ministry, at least we know Zita didn’t know anything because she tried to keep her mouth shut most of the time.

Mr Tia,s statement was full of half truths and blatant lies. The sad thing is the National Democratic Congress think Ghanaians are a bunch of fools where if you tell them anything they would just swallow it.

First of all, it is simply laughable to say the National Service Scheme which has been in place since 1969 is job creation. Job creation is not creating temporary jobs, but permanent part –time and full time jobs where the employed workers can plan their lives long term in order to save to look after themselves and their families so they can have a decent life. We now know that Mr Tia and his colleagues have no long term vision for Ghanaians (they make it up as they go along).

Then he accuses the NPP of running down Tema Oil refinery and Ghana Commercial Bank. First of all We advise Mr Tia, if he is really a Minister of information to go and study the Ghana Commercial Bank Financial Report 2008 and the recent one in 2009 and see if this is a company that is on the verge of collapse. Ghana Commercial Bank was adjuged to be the best performing bank in the sub region in the year 2008/2009. He should read page 10 of the 72 page 2009 GCB annual report and tell us if this is a company that is collapsing. If this is a collapsing company why is Mr Pryce Thompson the chairman one of the highest paid in the Banking Sector in Ghana? He should also be aware that since the government is the largest shareholder in GCB investing 450 million represents an increase in government equity in the business. If it was not a viable institution why would government invest in it? He should also explain to us why Mr Fifi Kwetey, the Deputy Minister for finance is serving on the board as a Non executive Director, which means he is drawing 2 salaries!!! A little bit of comfort for us (Koku Anyidodo’s words not mine)

Thirdly Mr Tia should know that the failure of the government to raise Letters of credit is due to their own incompetence and lack of negotiation skills. It is also due to the reckless statements they make, the unfavourable business climate they have created ,the lawlessness of NDC members and NDC Youth groups, that undermines business confidence in the economy and the ability of local and foreign business to plan and move forward .

We challenge Mr Tia and his 2 part time Deputy Ministers who use tax payers money to go to school instead of serving the people, to come and tell us when some of the key promises in the NDC manifesto would be fulfilled. If they have forgotten we would like to remind them

Science and Technology for development The NDC WLL ESTABLISH TWO NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY THEME PARKS, ONE IN CAPE COAST AND ONE IN THE AKWAPIM RIDGE. THESE PARKS ARE ENVISAGED TO PROVIDE WORLD CLASS FACILITIES FOR ELECTRONICS, PRECISION ENGINERRING, ITC AND BIO TECHNOLOGY.

Employment and job creation

WITH OUR PLANNED “COMPUTER REVOLUTION” IN THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM,THE NDC GOVERNMENT WILL ATTRACT THE OUTSOURCING OF COMPUTER RELATED JOBS AS A MAJOR SOURCE OF EMPLOYMENT AND MAKE GHANA A MAJOR DESTINATION FOR OUTSOURCED COMPUTER RELATED JOBS COMING INTO THE SUB REGION.

God will save Ghana from these Charlatans and Con men.
