NPP Supports NDC Candidate

In a bizarre twist, supporters of the ruling National Patriotic Party are alleged to be supporting the National Democratic Congress against Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom in the Komenda Edina Egauafo Abirem parliamentary elections.

Our investigation shows that the race for the KEAA seat is a straight fight between the CPP and the NDC with Dr. Nduom having an edge over the incumbent MP. Dr. Ato Quarshie. The issue would have been settled in favour of Dr. Nduom even now if the NPP had not put up a candidate as it did in two constituencies in the Western Region in favour of the CPP. With the NPP fielding a candidate, one Howard Mansoh, Dr. Nduom has an uphill task since some NPP supporters are rooting for the NDC candidate Ato Quarshie.

An insider in the KEAA NPP said that there was no official policy by his party to support the NDC candidate and said that was an insult to the integrity of the NPP. He said the NPP is supporting fully its candidate, Howard who they believe will win the elections. Speaking to The Independent in an exclusive interview Dr. Nduom said that his campaign is on track and was confident that he will win the seat.

He said his concern so far is how to enhance life in the constituency, adding that his years as an Assembly Member and active participant in community life in the constituency give him an advantage over his opponents.
