NPP Rejects Inusah

The National Executive of the New Patriotic (NPP) has rejected controversial Alhaji Inusah saying he has not yet formally applied to rejoin the party.

"The party and for that matter the entire nation remembers the very damaging and disgraceful remarks Alhaji Inusah made against the NPP when he chose to join the NDC, which he has not yet retracted".

The party says although the NPP's attention has been drawn to a press conference held by Alhaji Inusah at which he stated his intention to rejoin the party, the National Executive Committee of the party will have to take a decision on an application he submits to rejoin it.

A statement issued by the party and signed by its General Secretary, Dan Botwe says it is misleading for Inusah to give the impression that he is being welcomed back to the party by its leadership.

Some leading members told this writer that the controversial Alhaji would not be accepted back to the fold of the party because he has nothing to offer it except trouble.

Alhaji Inusah announced at a press conference, Thursday May that he is rejoining the NPP after a sober reflection.

Meanwhile the Chairman of the NPP, Samuel Odoi-Sykes has described the return of Inusah as a political gimmick.

"Speaking for myself, I am against it. How do you treat someone who tries to poison you, but because you did not die he has come to say sorry and wants to sit with you? Who knows what he could be up to next."

The NPP Chairman said although he can personally forgive Inusah, accepting him back into the party will not be the best for the party.
