NPP Plans To Boycott 2012 Elections!

As Ominous Defeat Looms …

News Desk Report

After failing to use all manner of panic and fear tactics, including the ‘Amina-robbery/mass-rape’ hoax story, which was hatched by NPP Chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey; and also failing to get the labour unions break the back of the Atta Mills’s administration via strike actions, the NPP is now planning to boycott the 2012 general elections as defeat stares Nana Akufo-Addo and his party in the face.

It has become crystal-clear that all the uneducated noise that the NPP continues to make about “verification”, in relation to the biometric registration, is nothing but an excuse to run away from the defeat that is staring the party in the face.

The NPP does not want the Electoral Commission (EC) to announce the results that will see Akufo-Addo walking into political oblivion, hence the planning to boycott the elections.

Using “verification” as an excuse to run away from defeat, was made public by one of Akufo-Addo’s many spokespersons in the person of Samuel Awuku. Speaking on Joy FM’s News Night programme on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, Nana Akufo-Addo’s boy said that if the EC does not accede to the NPP’s uneducated request for their “verification” demand, the NPP will “boycott” the 2012 election. As if Ghana loses anything if NPP does not partake in the election, Awuku spoke as if he was threatening the EC to either do the bidding of the NPP or face the wrath of the Party. Speaking to News Anchor, Mrs. Dzifa Bampoe, Sammy Awuku, barking like a wounded dog, issued the threat as if such a threat is what would make the EC acquiesce to a needless request. Obviously, the NPP knows it for a fact that in view of the way President Mills is confidently building a Better Ghana, and with all things being stable and equal, there is no way Nana Akufo-Addo will beat the sitting President at the polls. It is ipso facto that majority of Ghanaians have come to respect the President for his hard work and his “slow but sure” approach to building a Better Ghana, and will renew his mandate come December next year. Especially, when after the President begun his working tours of the country, many Ghanaians have stopped listening to the vile “Enko Yiee” propaganda of the NPP and concentrating on the heavy development projects springing up all over Ghana. Be it, schools, hospitals, roads, water, electricity, fighting the hard drug menace, cracking down on armed robbery, etc., President Mills has built a strong image for himself and his administration. Indeed, in spite of the recent floods, it is obvious that in two and a half years, the storm drains that have been constructed in and around, Sakaman, Dansoman, Mamponse, Chorkor etc, have prevented flooding in these areas. If in two years, storm drains are being constructed with speed, it stands to reason that by the time President Mills finishes his eight year-term, Accra and Ghana will never be the same again.

It is precisely because the NPP knows that Akufo-Addo cannot match President Mills in any way that is why they have decided to hide behind “verification” to run away from the elections.

Thanks to Sammy Awuku, Ghanaians now know that the NPP knows that there is no way Akufo-Addo can become President of Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana.
