The New Patriotic Party (NPP) successfully held its 2025 National Delegates Conference on July 19, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium, a vibrant gathering that showcased the party’s resilience and commitment to rebuilding after the 2024 electoral defeat.

We, FoB’08, extend our heartfelt congratulations to the party leadership, dedicated delegates, tireless organisers, and passionate supporters for their unwavering dedication to the NPP’s vision. Your collective efforts made this conference a resounding success, setting a strong foundation for the party’s 2028 victory.

The conference, themed “Rebuilding Together with Our Values,” was marked by powerful speeches from former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, which resonated deeply with attendees.

Dr Bawumia echoed the message of unity, stressing that the NPP’s strength lies in its diversity and shared purpose. He urged members to eschew tribalism, religious bigotry, and divisive language, warning that internal conflicts only weaken the party’s resolve.

Reflecting on the 2024 elections, he called for honesty in confronting past mistakes and demonstrating to Ghanaians that the NPP has learned valuable lessons.

“We must ensure Ghanaians genuinely see the lessons we have learnt and are willing to apply them,” he said, emphasising the need for discipline and humility to regain public trust.

Afenyo-Markin delivered a stirring call for unity, urging party members to set aside personal ambitions and internal divisions to rebuild the NPP into a formidable force. Quoting former President John Agyekum Kufuor, he reminded delegates, “It is better to be a cleaner in a party in power than the General Secretary of a party in opposition.”

He emphasised that the 2024 loss was not a mark of failure but a “crucible” to fortify the party. He criticised the ruling NDC’s governance, citing their failure to address galamsey, fuel price hikes, and attacks on the judiciary, while calling for an end to internal sabotage and hate campaigns within the NPP.

“If we fight for one another, we shall rise together,” he declared, urging the party to reconnect with Ghanaians through its core values of liberty, dignity, and opportunity.

As we reflect on this historic conference, we are filled with hope for a revitalised NPP. The party stands at a critical juncture, not of despair, but of opportunity. By embracing unity, discipline, and the enduring values of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition, the NPP can rebuild stronger and reconnect with the Ghanaian people.

We are confident that with collective resolve, the elephant will rise again, ready to reclaim power in 2028 and deliver the transformative governance Ghanaians deserve. Let us move forward together, united as one NPP, for a brighter future for Ghana.
