NPP Launches Young Elephants Club

The New Patriotic Party(NPP) has launched a youth group in the Upper East Region known as the “Young Elephant Club” and it is to organize for votes for the party in Election 2012.

The Regional Youth Organiser, Mr. Yaw Mort, commended the group for their laudable idea and advised them to shun internal squabbles that have the tendency of affecting the Party’s victory.

Alhaji Ben Salifu, a former Northern Regional Minister, said in every party the youth could play leading roles to any party’s victory.

“Now that the Party is in opposition, you as the youth should be looking at what you can do for the party and not what the party can do for you”, he said.

Mr. Randy Agana, a member of the Regional Communications Team, said members of the team would share ideas on how to campaign and win more votes for the party.

He said the good policies the erstwhile NPP government implemented were clear for Ghanaians to see and these include the National Health Insurance Scheme, School Feeding Programme and the Capitation Grant.

Mr Agana said the vision of the NPP was to extend the free universal coverage on education from Kindergarten to the Senior High School when it wins the 2012 election under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Mr. Smart Adombire, a member of the group, said the youth were prepared to sacrifice for the party to win votes and that as part of its campaign strategy the group would move from house to house to persuade people by selling the good messages of the NPP to them.

Florence Kuribila, the Acting Deputy Regional Organiser of the NPP, appealed to the youth to be very vigilant during election especially at the polling stations.
