NPP Election Results

Ashanti Region



  • Adansi Fomena: Mr Daniel Atta Boafo, defeated the sitting MP, Nana Abu Bonsra, by 126 votes to 53 votes.

  • Afigya-Sekyere: Nana Marfo, had 143 votes to win the polls against Karikari Baah Achamfuor, who had 129 votes.

  • Ahafo Ano South: Mr Stephen Kwaku Balado(74 VOTES) Manu, who has since 1996 served as MP was defeated by Mr Francis Manu Adabo (387 votes).

  • Ahafo-Ano North: Richard Akuoko Adiyia, MP, had 418 votes while, Kwame Owusu Frimpong, secured 105 votes.

  • Asante-Mampong: Incumbent MP, Francis Addai-Nimoh, had 294 votes to win against Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong, who had 145 votes.

  • Asante-Akim South: Kwaku Asante-Boateng garnered 343 votes to sail through with Gifty Ohene-Konadu (MP), 279, Kwabena Nketia Sekyi, three votes, Edmund Oppong-Peprah, one vote, and Charles Nana Yaw Osei, six votes.

  • Asawase: Nana Okyere Tawiah-Antwi had 212 votes to win the polls to contest for the seat against Dr Mohammed Kabiru Bala, who had 155 votes, Mustapha Ahmed Yaro, who had 150 votes, Peter Okyere, who 23 votes and Baba Sheriff, who won 10 votes.

  • Asokwa: Maxwell Kofi Jumah, lost his seat to the former KMA boss Madam Patricia Appiagyei.

  • Atwima-Kwanwoma: The race between Dr Appiah Kubi (MP) and Amankwaa Manu in the area saw a tie for which a re-run would be conducted later. Each polled 205 votes.

  • Atwima-Mponua: Isaac Kwame Asiamah (MP) had 730 votes to win with Isaac Owusuansah polling 36 votes.

  • Bosomtwe: Simon Osei-Mensah had 246 votes to win, with Kwame Abebrese polling 215.

  • Kwadaaso: Incumbent MP Akoto Owusu Afriyie (276 votes) beat Josephine Hilda Addo (57 votes).

  • Bantama: Mr Henry Kwabena Kokofu had 197 votes to win the election for Constituency while, Mr Francis Asenso-Boakye, had 117 votes.

  • Ejisu-Juaben: Mr Akwasi Osei-Adjei, former Foreign Affairs Minister, failed in his bid to contest for the seat, losing by 235 votes to the incumbent Mr Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, who had 561 votes.

  • Ejura-Sekyedomase: Mr Mohammed Salisu Bamba won the race with 373 votes, beating Sampson Anama and Eugene Asante, who received 90 votes and 52 votes, respectively.

  • Manhyia: Dr. Mathew Opoku "Napo" Prempeh retained his seat by polling 509 out of 649 total vote cast. His main challenger Kwabena Amofa Sarpong secured 140 of delegates' votes.

  • Nhyiaeso: Dr Richard Winfred Anane, a former Minister in NPP administration and Member of Parliament (NPP) for Nhyiaeso, polled 236 votes to beat other contestant, Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko, who had 96 votes.

  • Oforikrom: Delegates renewed the mandate of Mrs Elizabeth Agyemang, the incumbent MP, giving her 269 votes, while her opponent, Dr Alexander Ayogyem, polled 204.

  • Suame: Minority Leader in Parliament and incumbent NPP MP for the constituency, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, has retained his seat.

BRONG AHAFO REGION

  • Sunyani West: Former Brong-Ahafo regional minister and incumbent MP, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, has been reelected by popular acclamation as the NPP candidate for Sunyani.

CENTRAL REGION

  • Abura/Asebu/Kwamankese: Dr Kobina Arthur Kennedy failed to win the seat. He had 159 votes as against the winner Job Acquah Markin who polled 299 votes. The other contender, Kofi Abbew Nkrumah, had 130 votes.

  • Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam: Mr Albert Ato Quainoo (248 votes) beat Mr Romeo Aboagye (133), Mr John Kobina Amissah (124) and Mr James Appiah Mensah (28).

  • Mfantseman West: Former Information Minister Stephen "Asabee" Asamoah Boateng (643 votes) won the seat beating Ralph Inkoom (21).

  • Cape Coast: Former MP, Christine Churcher (148 votes) lost to Alfred Kojo Thompson (198 votes); Dr. Henrietta Abane (163) and Michael Arthur Dadzie (92), John Kwasi Sagoe (23).

  • Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA): Former Central Regional Minister Nana Ato Arthur has been acclaimed by delegates.

EASTERN REGION
  • Aburi-Nsawam: O. B Amoah (544 votes) retained the seat beating Magnus Opare Asamoah (214).

  • Akim Abuakwa North: Prof. Samuel Kwadwo Amoako(294 votes) lost his seat to the former MP for the area J. B. Danquah (296).

  • New Abirem: MP for the Constituency, Mrs Esther Obeng Dapaah, has retained her seat by soundly beating her closet rivals Mr Osei Frimpong and Grace "Maame Dokono" Omaboe. The incumbent MP polled 161, whilst Mr Seth Frimpong polled 95. Maame Dokono came last with 67 votes.

  • New Juabeng South: Incumbent MP Beatrice Benice Boateng lost to Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah.

  • Okere: Delegates endorse the candidature of the incumbent MP Dan Botwe.

GREATER ACCRA

  • Ablekuma North: Delegates in the constituency are not voting due to an eleventh hour court injunction.

  • Ablekuma: Ursula Owusu (190 votes) beat Benjamin Ashitey Brown (40).

  • Ayawaso East: Confusion has erupted at the Constituency. According to Citi News, three unknown men invaded the Nima cluster of Schools where the election is being held demanding an amount owed them by one of the aspirants. The unknown men alleged that the aspirant, Ibrahim Issah owes them an amount of GH¢1,700, and vowed to reclaim their money.

  • Adenta: Former women’s organizer of the ruling NDC, Ms. Frances Asiam won with 129 votes. Joseph K. Acolatse (67), Yaw Buaben Asamoa (64), Ms. Mercy Matey(13) and Nii Aja Wentum(10).

  • Okaikoi North: Elizabeth Kwachoe Tawiah Sackey(212 votes) lost to Patrick Yaw Boamah(350). Mr Kofi Ayisi Tete polled 65 votes, Alex Lovejoy Armah had one vote whilst Amos Opei Kofi Okai recorded zero.

  • Okaikoi South: Victoria Bright(248 votes) won the constituency beating Ahmed Arthur (216 votes).

  • Shai Osudoku: Mr Daniel Dugan, a former Deputy Minister of Women and Children Affairs elected by popular acclamation

  • Ada: Mrs Betty Quarshie elected by popular acclamation

  • Dome Kwabenya: Sara Adwoa Safo(186 votes), daughter of Apostle Kwadwo Safo beat Ocquaye Michael Aaron (124) and Robert Osei Bonsu (19).

  • Tema East: Mr Kofi Brako(294) beat the incumbent MP, Mr Ashong Narh(108 votes).

  • Ashaiman: Mr Seji Saji won the Constituency with 244 votes. The two other contestants in the race, Mr Thomas Adongo and Mr Emmanuel Kingsley Teye, former Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, had 115 and 94 votes respectively.

NORTHERN REGION

  • Tamale Central: Iddrisu Musah Superior, who contested from his base in the UK, won with 278 votes to win the seat.

  • Yendi: A former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Yendi Alhaji Mohammed Habib Jijani had 199 votes to defeat Dr. Abdul-Majeed Haroun (89 votes), Hajia Samata Gifty Bukari (24), and Abdul-Hussein Ishaq (8).

UPPER EAST REGION

  • Builsa North: the Upper East Regional chairman of the NPP Agnes Chigabatia (170 votes) won the constituency elections held on Friday. Former District Chief Executive for Builsa North, Thomas Alonsi had 116 votes, while a former manager of the Builsa District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, James Abakisi had 70 votes. The primary had to be scheduled for Friday to enable the communities hold the funeral of the late Overlord of the area, Nab Ayetah Azantillow on Saturday.

VOLTA REGION

  • Ho-Central: Dr Archibald Yao Letsa(372 votes) won beat Mr Ronald Fiakpui (62 votes).

  • Ho-East: Mr Dickson David Dzorkpe won by popular acclamation

  • Hohoe-North: Mrs Janet Emefa Obro-Adibo (291 votes) elected through voting by delegates beating Mr Mallon Anipah (176 votes) .

  • Hohoe-South: Mrs Madam Emma Kartey who was unopposed, was elected by acclamation by delegates.

WESTERN REGION

  • Shama: Joseph Cantamanto Garbral(174) beat Mr AtO Panford (145 votes) , Samuel Erickson Abakah of Sekyi-Hughes Chambers polled 70 votes to place third while the former NPP Member of Parliament for Shama and a former Deputy Minister of Education, Madam Angelina Baiden Amissah, had 37 votes to place fourth.
