NPP Asked to End Confusion in Wa Constituency

A group calling itself Concerned Elders, in the Wa township have appealed to the national leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to take steps to the end confusion, raging among members of the Wa Central Constituency of the party.

They observed that the state of affairs could extend to other parts of the region and affect development in the area, if not reversed.

The elders made the appeal when the Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama paid a courtesy call on them at Wa, during his three-day tour of the Upper West region.

Alhaji Sanni, leader of the Gengbeyiri section of the town noted that since the party's victory in the last elections, there has not been peace in Wa as attempts by the elders to resolve the matter have failed.

Since the NPP won the last general election, the Wa central constituency youth wing of the party and the party leadership in the region have been at each other's throat over key government appointments in the area.

The Vice President told the elders that the party would find amicable solution to the problem.

He urged all opinion leaders to support and pray for the government to enable it to accomplish its objective of national reconstruction.

He said though they inherited an "economic mess", the party has the courage and the men to turn things around.
