Social media has been awash with praises for the contestants who represented the Kumasi-based Senior High School, Prempeh College after they were announced winners of the 2017 National Science and Math Quiz.

Particular attention was paid to one of the Prempeh representative who was seen answering most of the question posed the school.

Wonder, caught the eye of many Ghanaians with his sharp answers and poised look throughout the competition. And from the look of things, excellence runs through his family.

A social media post from one Senior Yaw Adu-Gyamfi on Facebook had it that the father of Wonder Sarfo-Ansah was part of the 1996 team that won the NSMQ competition for Prempeh School.

However, YEN.com.gh, learnt the man shown in the image, though the father of Wonder, was not part of the contestants who represented Prempeh College in the 1996 edition of the competition.

In an interview on CITI FM, Wonder revealed that his father, albeit part of the students prepared as part of the NSMQ team, did not make the final selection to represent the school.

But despite, the old Amanfuo's not being part of the team, it is a wonderful coincidence that the father of one of the best performing contestants in the NSMQ "participated" in the event some years ago.

Wonder also revealed in his interview that, his father who is probably brimming with pride now, is not an electrical engineer. For all that it is worth, it truly seems excellence does run in the Sarfo-Ansah family.
