NMC ruling should make journalists reflect on responsible reportage - Government

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah Information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah

Ghana’s Information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has a need that the ruling by the National Media Commission on the petition over the militia documentary should be a sober reflection for the media to be responsible.

Appearing on Newsfile on Joy News on Saturday, the minister said much as media houses may be keen on beating the competition with superior content, Journalists must remain ethical in the process and not sensationalise their work.

“We’re not interested in going to town and gloating over this. I think for us what has happened is an opportunity for sober reflection. Indeed it gives all of us an opportunity to sit back and reflect on the issues.”

The NMC over the week rules that the documentary by Multimedia was misleading.
