NIA postpones Volta region Mop-Up registration exercise

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that the Volta region Mop-Up registration exercise has been postponed.

The exercise which was scheduled to begin Thursday 29th August, 2019 will commence on a later date.

The release signed by Head of Corporate Affairs, Francis Palmdeti apologized to the general public for any inconveniences caused.

“The National Identification Authority (NIA) regrets to inform the general public that its scheduled Mop-Up Registration Exercise in the Volta Region has been postponed. The exercise was scheduled to start on Thursday 29th August 2019. The NIA apologises for the inconvenience caused to prospective applicants and the general public. A new date will be announced in due course.

The Volta Region is the first region after the Greater Accra region to have the mass registration exercise.

The exercise started in the region on 22nd July, 2019.

After many complaints prospective applicants who were faced with several difficulties in their quest to register for the Ghana card in the region including network challenges, frequent breakdown of machines, long queues among others.

The National Identification Authority (NIA) extended the Ghana card registration exercise in the Volta Region by three weeks.

The exercise which ended in the region on August 14 will commence again on a later date.
