The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the expansion of its premium registration services to five additional regions, effective May 5, 2025.
This move aims to provide expedited registration services for Ghanaians seeking premium services.
As part of the expansion, the premium registration centre at the NIA Head Office at Shiashie will be relocated to the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), at Legon City Campus-GA-076-0326.
In a press release dated April 29, 2025, the NIA said that applicants seeking premium services, including first-time registration, card replacement, and personal information updates, will be required to book appointments via the NIA's online portal, register.nia.gov.gh.
“The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), Legon City Campus and the CalBank premium centres will from May 5, 2025, serve applicants only on appointment basis. Therefore, applicants who wish to access any of our premium services, i.e., First-Time Registration, Card Replacement and Personal Information Update Services at any of the above listed premium centres must register and book an appointment via register.nia.gov.gh. All other premium centres nationwide will offer walk-in service,” the statement said.
The National Identification Authority (NIA) is, therefore, encouraging eligible applicants in designated regions to utilise its premium service for expedited Ghana Card issuance.
Meanwhile, the public is reminded that all 276 district offices nationwide are fully operational, providing accessible registration services across the country.
“The NIA urges all eligible applicants within the designated regions to take advantage of the premium service for fast and convenient issuance of the Ghana Card. The public is reminded that all our 276 District Office across the country are fully operational,” it indicated.
