NGO to support childless women on Mother's Day

Sanctuary of Hope for Africa (SOHFA) is a non-profit organization focused on providing women who are less fortunate and underprivileged in society a sanctuary and community to feel loved, appreciated and wanted. We provide social welfare support for women through empowerment, life coaching, mentoring and financial assistance.

This year, our primary objective is to support childless women. Our numerous encounters with women have brought to our attention the number of women who are childless for several reasons.

In our society where child bearing is regarded as an obligation of women, those who cannot procreate are cast aside or stigmatized.

Therefore, this Mother’s Day we at SOHFA have come out with an initiative dubbed “You have a Daughter in Me”. This initiative is targeted towards women over 60 years who for unforeseen circumstances were unable to bear children. We have set out to put a smile on the faces of 10 of such women.
