NGO registers 25 women under NHIS

Accra, Nov. 4, GNA - Proactive Ghana, an international non-Governmental Organization (NGO) has registered twenty-five women under the National Health Insurance scheme in Hohoe Municipality. The recent registration caters for the third quarter of this year. The NGO had already registered more than 100 people in the last two quarters.

This was in fulfilment of the organization's pledge to register more than 25 needy people in the constituency every quarter. Mr Theophilus Kojo Dzimega, founder of the organisation, said this was his small way of giving back to his society what it had invested in him.

He said he decided to embark on this campaign because he was touched by the plight of most of the people who could not afford their hospital bills, as he travelled across the Municipality.

"I visited the Hohoe General hospital and saw a woman who was down and her hopes were all gone because she could not afford to pay for the bills which cost 15 cedis," he added.
