NGO presents books to Ghana National College

Cape Coast, Jan. 11, GNA- Mr Robert Koomson Barnes, Headmaster of the Ghana National College, Cape Coast, has appealed to past students of the college domiciled in the United States (US) and elsewhere to come to the aid of the college.

He made the appeal on Saturday when he received 25 boxes of science books valued at 10,000 dollars donated by an American Educational Programme for Africa (AEPA), an NGO in the USA for the school at Cape Coast.

Mr. Barnes on behalf of the school thanked the NGO for the gesture and said the books had come at the right time when the college was in dire need of books to restock its library. He also thanked Mr William E. Sam, Executive Director of the NGO and old boy of the college through whose initiative the books were donated.

Mr Barnes assured the NGO that the books would be put to good use and hoped the NGO would continue to assist the college in other areas. Mr Sam who made the presentation said the books were donated in response to an appeal by the school to its old students abroad. 11 Jan 04
