NGO pledges continuous support to the vulnerable

Passion for Needy, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), on Thursday pledged its continuous support to underprivileged persons in society.

The organization holds the view that the less privileged in society also deserves care, and that as part of its social responsibility initiative, it would continue to put smiles on the faces of the poor and needy.

Mrs Janet Torgbor El-Aschkar, Chairperson for the organisation stated this at the launch of its 10th anniversary in Accra.

The anniversary was on the theme: “The NGO and Provision of Social Support for Government Support”.

She said the theme was a call on corporate institutions to extend their hands to the poor and needy since government alone cannot attend to the needs of all of them.

Mrs El-Aschkar said since its inception in 2009, the Organization has provided need-based assistance to individuals and organizations, especially those involved in charity works in the country.

She said as part of the anniversary celebration, the organization has line-up events such as donation to the street academy in Accra, health walk through some principal streets of Accra, health screening, and climax it with a thanksgiving service in Accra.
