Hearing by the Prof. Kwesi Botchwey led committee probing the 2016 election defeat of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party was once again interrupted following a fight between two internal opposing group in the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency on Friday.

The clashe led to injury of some supporters of the party.

Angry youth stormed the Somanya Community Center where the meeting was being held with placards in protest against their executives accusing them of collapsing the party in a constituency which is the NDC stronghold hence the party’s unprecedented shambolic performance in the constituency in 2016.

The NDC Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, Hon. Ebenezer Oklaitey Terlarbi secured 19,710 representing 49.74 while his close contender from the NPP Foster Nuertey Ayertey polled 19,383 votes representing 48.91%

The branch executives and supporters of the party say, the NPP will completely capture the seat should the current current constituency executives led by Chairman David Walter and MP be maintained in 2020.

According to the aggrieved supporters despite the grassroot call for change of Parliamentary candidate during the primaries, the executives skewed the system to get the MP re-elected as Parliamentary candidate hence the poor performance of the party.

The incensed supporters mostly branch executives also accused the Executives for creating division in the Lower Manya Krobo constituency.

On Thursday, similar confusion rocked the Prof. Kwasi Botchey committee in Koforidua when the aggrieved Constituency and branch executives of the party sacked their regional executives from the meetings
