The Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), lawyer Obiri Boahen says so far as he is alive and prays to God Almighty, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will never return back to power again.

He was responding to the launch of the Ghana Institute of Social Democracy by the NDC and claims that it has shaken the foundation of the NPP.

But responding to the claims on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, lawyer Obiri Boahen slammed the NDC and accused it of being bias and a party that lacks objectivity.

According to him, when the Danquah Institute (DI) was established, operatives of the NDC ridiculed them but ‘’here we are today they [NDC] have established a political school. It is not a bad initiative but it has not shaken our foundation. The impression should not be created that the NDC will win power in 2020 with their newly created school,’’ he said.

Lawyer Obiri Boahen said the party should not be deceived in winning power 2020, because former president John Dramani Mahama shall return as their presidential candidate and ‘’because he was defeated massively by President Nana Akufo-Addo, it will not be difficult to defeat him again.'' ’Mr. Boahen said, ‘’we wish the NDC well in the establishment of the school, but we are not afraid.

As long as I continue to live, as long as I operate from the NPP’s headquarters, the NDC should forget coming back into power in 2020,’’ he said.
