NDC urged to uphold unity in diversity

Ho, June 8, GNA - Right Reverend Francis Amenu, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EPC) Church, Ghana, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to uphold the 93principle of unity in diversity", during and after their congress. "I'm urging the resenting groups of the NDC to bear in mind its sl= ogan of 93Arise, Arise for Ghana" and make peaceful compromises in the intere= st of the country. He urged the competing groups not to allow 93unbridled political ambition" to martyr the virtue of 91unity in diversity", which has hel= d the Party and country together. Right Reverend Amenu gave the advice at the opening of the 17th annual National Delegates Conference of the Church's Presbyters Union in Ho, und= er the theme, 93integrity in Mission and Ministry", on Friday. He said the NDC was under obligation to uphold 93integrity in Mission and Ministry" as the governing party. Right Reverend Amenu observed that 93the depth of polarization" in the Party, prior to the Sunyani Congress 93is not the best." "They must exercise the necessary decorum in order to mitigate every form of belligerent spirit", he admonished. "Let us take a cue from events of other African countries and ensure the creation of a secured democratic haven for posterity".
