NDC tells Akufo-Addo; 'you are reckless'

Nana Akufo-Addo - NPP Presidential Candidate Nana Akufo-Addo - NPP Presidential Candidate

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, will be a reckless president in the unlikely event that Ghanaians honour him with the highest office in the land.

According to the National Organizer of the party, Kofi Adams, the NPP Flagbearer in recent times has churned out irresponsible comments which clearly define what his Presidency will be like in the future.

The twice defeated Presidential Candidate has this week come under a lot of flak after he alleged that a whopping $ 10 million dollars of state funds had been expended on printing Presidential diaries.

He said the issue saddens him because a lot of Ghanaians continue to struggle on a daily basis to earn a living while the government embarks on profligate spending. He further lambasted the Mahama-led NDC government for failing to raise the needed capital to defray the almost $200 million debt the nation owed Nigeria’s N-Gas and the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPco).

Again, the veteran politician who is currently on a European tour, told a gathering in Amsterdam that conditions in Ghana points to the fact that the 2016 elections will be rigged.

He is therefore asking the global community to intervene in order to avert crisis in the West African country come next year.

“Ghana has worked incredibly hard to preserve a democratic character. One administration shouldn’t be allowed to undermine it. The hope is that the global community takes notice and urges change before the elections rather than looking back at the 2016 elections; shaking their heads and asking how did this happen; we are telling you exactly how it’s going to happen,” Nana Addo said.

He added: “All the pieces are in place for a rigged election. As Africans, we have witnessed election-related violence tear countries apart, we know what we risk should this problems not be resolved”.

But speaking on Neat FM on Wednesday, Mr Kofi Adams condemned Nana Addo for putting out such statements saying this is highly reprehensible.

“Ghanaians cannot have a President who is always quick at putting out false information; such recklessness should not be the least tolerated. How can Nana Addo be going round the world putting out such unfounded allegations, this shows how desperate he is for power. He has decided to do everything to win power irrespective of what the negative consequence his action can cause this country”.
