NDC should have expelled Rawlings - David Percy

A leading member of the National Reform Party, Dr. David Percy, says the National Democratic Congress should have expelled former President Rawlings immediately there were indications that he supported the NDP.

Using the sacking of Kakra Asamoah by the NPP in 2000 when he pledged his support for then candidate Mills, Dr. Percy said it serves the interest of the ruling party to dismiss former President Rawlings.

Commenting on the alleged involvement of the Rawlingses in the NDP on Radio XYZ’s Political Analysis program, ‘The Analyst’, Dr. Percy said the NDC should have taken this step a long time ago.

“Any serious party, if you do things that brings the party into disrepute, if you openly support another party against your own, you are out.

“The very moment when you decide to come public then you know that you are out and that is how you build a strong organization”.

Dr. Percy added that the former President has served his time and therefore cannot be an asset to the ruling party.

“I don’t see how he can be an asset electorally to the NDC in any form” Mr. Percy added.
