National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer hopeful Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah says he is the best person to lead the NDC back to power in the 2020 elections.

Dr. Spio-Garbrah who served as Trade and Industry Minister in the erstwhile NDC administration faces stiff competition from his boss, former President John Mahama and ten others including Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin in the scramble for the NDC’s flag bearer slot for the 2020 elections.

Speaking to Starr News on the sidelines of a youth colloquium in Cape Coast as part of activities to mark the Oguaa Fetu Afahye, Dr. Spio Garbrah said he has the requisite ingredients needed to steer the country forward in its development.

“Most people in Ghana have been aware of my interest, capacity, and qualifications to lead the NDC party and also to be the president of Ghana,” said Dr. Spio Garbrah.

Extolling his credentials, Dr. Spio-Garbrah stressed that he is better prepared than his previous attempts for the NDC’s flag-bearer slot, losing to former President John Attah Mills. That experience, according to him, refined him into a better politician ready to lead Ghana into the next stage of her development.

Certain he will come out victorious in the scramble for the chance to lead the NDC into the 2020 elections, Dr. Spio Garbrah said: “I’m not a talker; I’m a doer that has a big vision for Ghana.”

He further noted that as an accomplished “doer” he has what it takes to rejuvenate the NDC into a winning machine to defeat the Akufo-Addo led NPP in 2020.
