NDC is a pack of dazed people - Nyaho

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has described the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as a frustrated and confused party.

The firebrand politician was reacting in an interview, to the statement made by the NDC in response to President John Kufuor's address to the effect that the address lacked bite and punch.

"As far as we in the NPP are concerned, the NDC's reaction is baseless, porous and acannot hold water. What the NDC did to the nation by way of governance in the last 20 years was a fa?ade", Dr Nyaho charged. He stated that the reaction of the NDC should be treated with the contempt it deserved.

Dr Nyaho Tamakloe argued that the NDC as a frustrated and confused party is bent on using all means, not only to derail the developmental projects being undertaken by President Kufuor's administration, but also to gain undue political favour from the electorate.

He was of the opinion that the longest ruling party in the history of this country, which is the NDC, created the economic mess confronting the NPP administration. He described the NDC politicians as boxers who are so dazed that they can hardly throw any powerful punches. "The NDC politicians are dazed and unable to read between the lines of President Kofuor's presentation as captured in the State of the Nation address.

We are an open government believing in real accountability, probity and transparency and above all with the intention of god governance. The veteran politician intimated that the method of "touch and go", which entails sweeping things under the carpet by the NDC government has now become a word of the past, arguing that the NDC has no clue, no idea about the way the nation is now being run.

"The NDC should learn how to be in opposition for a very long time," he added. It would be recalled that a week after President Kufuor presented the State of the Nation address contending that the president's statement was only a litany of broken promises and shattered dreams.

The minority argued among others that the address was an anodyne, indicating that "it is clear that two years in the JAK administration had brought hardship to the majority of Ghanaians. And notwithstanding all the efforts to put some gloss and shine on Kufuor's stewardship the chances of a marked improvement in the quality of life for most Ghanaians look extremely bleak under his administration."

The NPP strongman contended that the reactions of the NDC were orchestrated attempts top destabilize the economy for cheap popularity. Commenting on the Golden Age of Business, which was described by the NDC as Stone Age of Business, Dr Tamakloe said "The state of the industrialists were destroyed and collapsed as a result of the NDC's approach to business, particularly indigenous Ghanaians business. The fundamental error was created by the NDC resulting in the poor industrialization in the country."

According to Dr Nyaho-Tamaloe, the NPP is committed to ensuring and reviving both private and public sectors to ensure that the Golden Age of Business is achieved. He added that the president had actually hammered on the burning issues confronting the nation and give more brighter hope for future.
