NDC intentionally taking Ghana for a ride – Pius Hadzide

Pius Enam Hadzide, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sport Pius Enam Hadzide, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sport

The Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide on Wednesday alleged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) minority in parliament is intentionally taking Ghana for a ride and engaging in ‘Merry-go-round’ that yields no upshot.

According to the Deputy Sports Minister, his earlier position on the “cash for -seat” saga has been vindicated adding that, the minority just wanted media attention and be relevant in the scheme of teams but are not adopting the best way of doing so.

“My personal position has been vindicated. At the very start, I held the position that NDC minority in Parliament was intentionally taking this country for a ride and were engaging in a merry-go-round, leading to nowhere.

They knew what they wanted to do… They knew they just wanted to catch media attention and occupy space and be relevant in the scheme of teams, and they thought the way to do it is to cry wolf when they themselves know that there was none” he stated.

Mr. Hadzide’s comment comes after the 5-member committee set up to investigate the ” Cash for seat ”saga laid its report before parliament on Tuesday exonerating the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the event organizers of no wrongdoing despite a walk-out staged by the minority over the debate of the report.

The speaker of Parliament, Right Honourable Prof. Mike Aaron Oquaye, however, referred the report to the privileges committee in Parliament for further dealings in accordance with the law.
