NDC goons butcher two for wearing Nana Addo’s T-shirts

The Fire festival which was supposed to be a feast of happiness turned bloody on Sunday when some National Democratic Congress (NDC) thugs descended on two of their own with machetes and guns for wearing T-shirts bearing the picture of the Presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo.

The two, Lukeman Abu and Abdul Fatawu Osman were spotted escorting the wife of the NPP Presidential candidate, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Mrs Obetsebi Lamptey, wife of the National Chairman of the NPP on Saturday, November 24, 2012 through the Agbogbloshie and Kokomba markets.

They defied all the threats from their brothers in the camp of the NDC to join the campaign trail of the NPP.

Filled with joy of crossing carpets from the NDC to join the NPP, a group called the G20 in the Kokomba area of the Ododiodioo Constituency in the Greater Accra Region has found solace in taking part in political activities of their new found political party.

This happened at the time when the NDC had declared the place a no-go area for the NPP and other opposition parties.

Earlier last week, this same group had led the Parliamentary candidate of the NPP in the constituency to campaign in the Kokomba market.

Their counterparts in the NDC found their activities threatening to the fortunes of the NDC in the area hence the need to attack the leaders of the group in the early hours of Sunday, November 25, 2012 between the hours of 12 midnight and 1 a. m., a group of NDC thugs stormed the house of Lukeman Abu with machetes and guns ostensibly to kill him.

After administering enough strokes of the machetes they were carrying, one of them finally decided to end the life of Lukeman by shooting him.

Unfortunately for them, all the 25 pellets of the ‘BB’ bullet fired by the NDC goon went straight into the body of one of their own, Mohammed Rufai who felt his friends have gone beyond the limit.

Rufai had earlier in the day cautioned Lukeman to take off the NPP T-shirt he was wearing because it is an abomination in the area but the latter blatantly refused because he felt that was his right.

The other victim, Abdul Fatawu was also treated in the same manner but his level of injury was not as severe as that of Lukeman who was ready to undergo surgery on his head, both arms and other parts of the body. Abdul Fatawu has refused to be touched with a syringe even though he sustained very deep cuts on his chest, neck, hand and back from the NDC butchers.

Leader of the G20 group, Richard M. Suleiman who is also the Director of Operations for NPP Zongo Youth Association (ZOYA) told Daily Searchlight in an interview at the Korle-Bu Teching Hospital yesterday that their brothers in the NDC have evil plans against them because they have better policies and programmes for the development of Ghana. .

The Police are on the grounds around the Jima Park where the fire festival took place. This year’s festival is reported to be a little awkward as live ammunitions were being fired instead of the usual gun powder.
