NDC divert health buses to women organisers

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Coordinator of the All Die Be Die Club, Kwame Baffoe, has alleged that each of the ten regional women organisers of the ruling NDC have been given one mini Yutong bus imported by the NPP government for the health sector.

According to Kwame Baffoe, as part of measures to improve the health sector, the NPP government arranged for two of the buses for each region, but on arrival, the NDC has rather distributed only one for each region and given one to each of its regional women organisers to use for commercial purposes.

Kwame Baffoe, affectionately called Abronye DC, made the allegation on Space FM's Hot Points hosted by Nana Opoku Agyemang on Saturday.

The All Die Be Die Coordinator was contributing to a topic on the upcoming NDC delegates congress in Sunyani when he chipped in that allegation.

Upholding the ethics of journalism, the host of the show, Nana Opoku Agyemang, asked the panelist to withdraw his submission and assured listeners that his production team would follow up on the allegatioin and brings out its findings in the subsequent editions of the programme.

This was because Kwame Baffoe could not immediately authenticate the matter and more so it was not part of the hot points being discussed.

In her reaction, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Women Organiser of the NDC, Florence Annie, denied the allegation saying whoever made the allegation could not be serious.

Madam Annie told Space FM’s Francis Owusu-Ansah on phone that she is a very successful business woman and can afford to buy anything she desires for business.

Meanwhile, the Brong-Ahafo regional FONKAR Communications Director, Chris Dugan told Space FM on the same programme that when Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings got to Techiman on Saturday to meet delegates as part of her campaign tour of the region, the Municipal Chief Executive, Alex Kyeremeh, had camped all the delegates making it difficult for the former first lady to meet them in furtherance her presidential ambitions.

The MCE allegedly converted his official residence into a ‘base’ for delegates in order to prevent Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings from meeting the delegates. This act is said to have infuriated FONKA members who subsequently stormed the MCE’s house.

But it later emerged that the delegates met the former first lady at the Derry hotel.

Reacting to the allegations against him on Space Morning Flight hosted by Barima Yaw Owusu, Mr. Kyeremeh denied the allegation explaining that no such incident happened in his residence because he had just returned from a trip.

Mr. Kyeremeh who publicly declared his support for professor Mills, noted that the FONKAR people are frustrated hence the blame games.
