Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has led a party delegation to the Garu in the Upper East Region to commiserate with bereaved families who lost relations in the gory Kintampo – Tamale road accident.

A statement signed by the Upper East Regional Communications Officer of the party, Alhaji Saeed Ahmed Tijani and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Bolgatanga, said “The team was in Garu and Tempane Districts to convey their condolences on behalf of former John Dramani Mahama, and the entire membership of the party to the families of the perished passengers.”

The statement said President Mahama was in Johannesburg, South Africa to address two Global Conferences on Energy, Trade and Investment.

“The delegation presented some cash donation to the families to help perform the funerals of the lost lives, and defray any debt incurred by the families.”

The delegation according to the statement comprised Chief Sofo Azorka, the National Vice Chairman of the party, Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba, Regional Chairman, Mr Williams Nsobono Akanyele Regional Vice Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Yasaana Mutawakilo, the Regional Organiser.

The rest are; Mr Abraham Azumah Lambon, the Regional Youth Organiser, Madam Mariama Anaatim Musah, Deputy Regional Women’s Organiser and Members of Parliament (MPs) including; Mr Albert Akuka Alazuuga, MP for the Garu Constituency, Hajia Ayishetu Laadi Ayamba, MP for Pusiga Constituency, Dr Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem, MP for Binduri Constituency and Dr Clement Apak, MP for Builsa South Constituency.

The statement indicated that the Regional Executives earlier visited the beavered families on the same mission.
