NDC accused of destroying Akufo-Addo’s billboards

The first Ashanti Regional Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwabena Nsenkyire, has accused operatives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of deliberating destroying billboards of the NPP flagbearer at some vantage points in the Kumasi metropolis.

Mr. Nsenkyire alleges that the NDC is secretly replacing billboards of the NPP presidential candidate in the 2012 elections and replacing them with that of President John Mahama, in an anticipation of a possible run-off after the Supreme Court hearing.

Speaking in an interview with The Herald the NPP chairman said that billboards mounted at places like Manhyia roundabout, Suame, Moshie-Zongo, Anloga and Tech, by the NPP during the 2012 electioneering campaign have been removed.

The NPP chairman also said Nana Addo’s billboards at other places such as Ahodwo, Nhyiaeso and Danyame have also been removed.

He, however, contended that the NDC operatives engaging in such acts were wasting their time because, according to him, “there would be no second round because NPP will win the case and Nana Addo will eventually be declared the winner of last year’s elections”.

The NPP Vice-chairman, therefore, cautioned that the party has set up a task force to monitor the activities of people engaged in the act and hoped that they will soon be caught and flashed out.
