NDC Zongo groups urged to unite for development

Alhaji Yussif Captain, National Coordinator of the Zongo Caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Sunday urged Zongo communities to form a formidable front to fight poverty their common enemy.

He, however, urged President John Dramani Mahama to address the developmental challenges confronting Zongo communities, especially in the educational sector.

Alhaji Captain was speaking at a victory thanksgiving rally organized at Koforidua by the Eastern Regional branch of the Zongo Caucus.

He said the caucus was not ending its activities with the end of the elections, adding “The caucus campaign for the 2016 elections will start immediately after the inauguration of the President John Dramani Mahama .”

Alhaji Captain said the Caucus served as encouragement and the link between government and Zongo communities for effective and efficient delivery of developmental projects to the people, adding “All sprinter groups who wants to serve under the NDC should join hands with the Zongo Caucus as the mother party group.”

He said the Zongo Caucus was advancing the “Better Ghana Agenda” activities in Zongo communities, which were investing in people, stability and jobs creation.

Alhaji Captain, who is also the Greater Accra Vice Chairman of the NDC, also called on President

John Dramani Mahama not to consider opportunists who pretended to have the party at heart in his government.

“Muslim youths need direction, help and motivation to go into the classroom; and our business men and women also need support to expand their businesses. We call on President Mahama to come to our aid”, he said.

Alhaji Bawa Ismael, executive member of the Caucus, said the Zongo Caucus was the most effective group in NDC that had work tirelessly day and night, across the length and breadth of the country to ensure the one-touch-victory for President

John Mahama .

Alhaji Baba Kankani, Eastern Regional Coordinator of the Zongo Caucus thanked the national executives of the Caucus for their commitment and support towards unifying their front and appealed to all sprinter groups within the NDC to unite and ensure the development of the nation.
