The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Zongo Caucus has urged the party’s supporters to make sure that their children of the voting age get their names on the electoral roll.
This, it said, was necessary to assure the NDC of the numbers for resounding victory in 2016.
It cautioned against complacency, adding that, they should do everything to persuade people, sympathetic to their cause, to register.
The group made the call in a statement jointly signed by the Coordinator, Alhaji Othman Yahya, and Secretary, Alhaji Alhassan Ibn Ibrahim, in Kumasi after a tour of some registration centres in the Ashanti Region.
The leadership of the Caucus had been to Ejura, Asawasi, Oforikrom, Subin, Ejisu-Juaben and the Manhyia North and South Constituencies to observe the exercise.
It expressed satisfaction with the way things had gone so far and said it was confident that all – registration officers and political party agents, would continue to conduct themselves well to prevent any unfortunate incident.
Ghana has come far with its democracy and the expectation is that all would work together to sustain it on the path of growth, the statement added.
