Nana Kojo Toku, Western Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has refuted allegations from public speculations and media discussions surrounding his dealings in railway scraps within the region.
“We wish to state categorically that the Regional Chairman of the party, Nana Kojo Toku, has no involvement whatsoever, directly or indirectly, in any transaction, decision, or activity relating to the said railway scraps.”
This was contained in a statement issued by Eric Kweku Kyeremah, Special Aide to the Chairman.
The statement said Nana Toku remained fully committed to the party’s core values of transparency, accountability, and integrity, and therefore found such allegations or insinuations most unfortunate and misleading.
It said: “For the avoidance of doubt, the Regional Chairman has not sanctioned, participated in, or benefited from any operation or engagement connected to the disposal or sale of railway materials.
“Any attempt to link his name to this matter is a deliberate act of mischief aimed at tarnishing his hard-earned reputation and diverting attention from the real issues at hand.”
The statement thus urged the public, media practitioners, and party faithful to treat such rumours and unverified reports with the contempt they deserve.
The statement added that the Chairman continues to focus on strengthening party unity, supporting government programmes, and ensuring the NDC remains strong and united in the Western Region.
