NDC Wants 'Unprofessional' MTTU Boss Transferred

The Greater Accra regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker is demanding the immediate transfer of the head of the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit, ACP Angwubutoge Awuni.

Ade Coker in an interview with XYZ News said the harsh treatment meted out to the former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Armah Ashietey was unfortunate hence their demand for the MTTU boss to be transferred from the capital.

Hon. Nii Armah Ashietey was briefly arrested and detained for allegedly interfering in the ongoing biometric registration exercise in his constituency last Thursday.

ACP Awuni, has however admitted exceeding his limit in the manner in which he dealt with the former Greater Accra Regional Minister over his conduct during the biometric registration exercise in the Klottey Korley Constituency.

However, Mr. Ade Coker said ACP Awuni did not show professionalism in his handling of the Member of Parliament for the Korle-Klottey and must be penalized severely for his action.

He said Mr. Ashietey was brutalized and manhandled for no just reason on the orders of the MTTU boss. Mr. Ade Coker added that due to the harsh treatment meted out to Mr Ashietey, he has been hospitalized and is now recuperating from the injuries sustained.

“The Police is a big institution, they can take him anywhere they want to but not in Greater Accra. They can take out of Greater Accra because his actions and inactions do not portray him as a professional. The Regional Minister is now hospitalised what kind of the minimal force is that” Mr Ade Coker said.
