NDC Regaining Strength in Ashanti

AN EXECUTIVE member of the Ashanti Regional Re-organisation Committee (ROC) of the NDC, Mr. O. K. Amankwaa, has observed that there are clear indications that the NDC is becoming stronger in the Ashanti Region.

"With effective re-organisation, the NDC can win back the seats it lost to the NPP in the 2000 general elections come the year 2004", Amankwaa opined.

Amankwaa made these observations when he met with the Ahafo-Ano Constituency branch of ROC at Tepa over the weekend.

The regional ROC executive member lamented that party executives are thwarting the efforts being made to re-organise the party.

He explained that party executives have always been absent during meetings with constituency branches of ROC at the various constituencies.

"The various branches in both the urban and rural areas are going to be the weapon of the party. The re-organisation is, therefore, aimed at re-juvenating the party from the grassroots", the ROC executive member said.

Amankwaa urged all branch executives to register members of the party.

This, he said, will help to determine the strength of the party in the region.

On the financial position of the party, the ROC executive member said members of the party ought to sacrifice financially to help strengthen the party's financial position.

Amankwaa also urged former DCEs and other people who benefited from the NDC to contribute their quota towards the re-organisation of the party.
