NDC Piles Up The Cash

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has started its cash pile for the 1996 elections reports the Independent.

The NDC last Saturday raised a surprising 87 million cedis for its coffers at a fund raising dinner dance at Ho. This amount beats the 51 million cedis the party raised at Cape Coast.

As in Cape Coast the bulk of donations came from project- seeking contractors who believe that their donations will be rewarded hundredfold.

Foreign Minister and Attorney-General, Obed Asamoah, Who was one of several NDC stalwarts who attended the fund- raising dinner dance said the NDC will win the 1996 elections.

The NDC cleared almost all the presidential and parliamentary votes in the 1992 elections in the Volta Region.
