NDC –New York Elects New Executives

The National Democratic Congress’ New York Branch met last Saturday, October 4, 2010 to elect new executive officers to continue working for the development of the party, and to retain power in 2012. Present at the meeting was a cross-section of members of the Branch including the secretary for NDC-USA, Mr. Osborne K Sam and the out-going chairman of NDC New York, Dr. George Lamptey. The newly elected executive is as follows;

Chairman: Alhaji Abass A. Adamu

Vice Chair: Mr. Bismarck Agbemenule

Vice Chair: Mr. Seth Sintim-Agymen

General Secretary: Moses Kanduri

Deputy Secretary: Hassan Mohammed

Treasurer: Alhaji Yusif Yunusah

Financial Secretary: Ms. Naa Adei-Kotei

Public Relation Officer: Alhaji Abdul Aziz Shaibu

Women Organizer: Salamatu Issaka

Constituency Organizer: Musah Fatawu

Speaking to the gathering after the election Dr. George Lamptey called on elected officers promised to continue to support and work to further strengthen the NDC New York Branch. He urged the newly elected executives to endeavor to strengthen the channels of communication between the branch, NDC USA and NDC Ghana. Dr. Lamptey encouraged the meeting to gird its lions as the newly elected officials roll out their program, with the main goal of affording the party in Ghana support especially during the party’s preparation for the General elections of 2012.
The Secretary of NDC USA, on his part promised to continue to remain committed to the branch and help the newly elected executives bring their goals into fruition. He stressed on the need for all members of NDC USA to remain united, eschew divisiveness and help the party to prepare for the 2012 general elections.
The incoming Chairman, Alhaji Abass A. Adamu congratulated Dr. Lamptey and his team for their outstanding leadership. He recalled how on several occasions during the time the period the party was in opposition, the branch under the leadership of Dr. Lamptey put together resources to support candidates who were running on the party’s platform. He charged the new executives to emulate the hard work and unity of purpose of the out-going executives.
