Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Samuel Atta Akyea has said some Members of Parliament in the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) want their party and President John Mahama out of government.

Speaking to a gathering at Anum in the Eastern region during the campaign tour of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo, Mr Atta Akyea said the unbridled hardship brought on Ghanaians coupled with excessive borrowing under the Mahama administration is making people think of a change of government including members of the NDC.

He called on voters to rally behind the NPP to win power in the 2016 polls.

“I have realised that many NDC supporters including the MPs want President Mahama out of government. They are calling on the NPP to kick him out. This year’s election is meant for us to protect our future because when we make the mistake and vote for President Mahama again, we will continue to face hardship in the next four years”, he stated.

“The Mahama administration does not have any better plans for Ghana. We have the Public Accounts Committee that has unraveled a lot of corruption and embezzlement of funds in the Auditor General’s report. President Mahama does not think about the welfare of all Ghanaians but only members of the NDC. He has destroyed all the good policies in the country. Even with the discovery of oil, he is unable to manage the country”, the Abuakwa South legislator added.
