NDC Has A Track Record Of Delivering On Its- Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has called on the good people of Ghana not to be deceived by the free SHS propaganda being pursued by the NPP.

He noted that during their eight year term in office, they did not do anything towards ensuring free basic education as stipulated by the constitution, how much more providing free SHS.

President Mahama said the NDC has a track record of delivering on its promises as far as quality and access to education is concerned.

This is evident in the number of Schools the NDC has built across the country and the number of social interventions to take some burden off parents.

The President was addressing a large enthusiastic crowd at Have and Golokwati both in the newly created Afadjato South district of the Volta Region.

Meanwhile, the paramount Chief of the Gbi Traditional Area, Togbega Gabusu, has appealed to government to revoke the curfew that was imposed on the people of Hohoe during recent disturbances between the Gbi's and the Zongo community.

He said peace has returned to the area and they are co-existing well.

Togbega Gabusu made the appeal when President Mahama stopped at Hohoe as part of the Northern -Volta campaign tour.

The Chief said his request for the curfew to be lifted is to enable people who have fled the area to return and continue with their businesses.

President Mahama congratulated the People of Hohoe for understanding the peace process.

He said Hohoe promises to be a potential economic hub and this will attract a number of investors to the town.

This however means that they have to maintain peace and accommodate everyone.

President Mahama assured those who were affected by the violence of some assistance from MASLOC to re-start their businesses.

President John Mahama, a natural crowd puller once again sent the people of Northern Volta into a state of frenzy as he stormed Have and surrounding communities.

Both the Old and Young and particularly schools were out there to receive him.

The Children seem to be fascinated by the "i dey be keke" mantra as they run after the Presidents convoy to catch a glimpse of him.

The Chief of Have, Togbe Asem Tsra, commended the NDC government for the eastern corridor road which when completed will open up the town to a number of business activities.

He also showed appreciation to the Mills administration for eliminating schools under trees of which Have is a beneficiary.

He however appealed to government to upgrade the Have Health Centre into a District Hospital to serve the new Afadjato South District.

President Mahama asked the people not to be swayed by empty promises by some politicians in a bid to win power.

He mocked the free SHS being mooted by the NPP. He stated that when it comes to issues of education, the NPP has no track record.

President Mahama assured the people of the Volta region of completion of the Eastern Corridor road and other major development in the next term of the NDC administration.

He noted that the creation of the new districts is to bring development to every corner of the country.

The Aspiring Member of Parliament for the Afadjato South Constituency, Joseph Amenowode, was introduced to the people.
