NDC Concerned Youth Leader commends Omanhene

Mr. Michael Dery, Agonaman and Gomoaman NDC Concerned Youth Leader, has asked the elite to rally behind the two paramount chiefs in the district to improve the quality of life of the people.

He asked the paramount chiefs of Gomoaman and Agonaman to take bold steps to woo local and foreign investors to come and invest in the two adjoining districts.

Mr. Dery who is also a former youth wing member of the NDC in Italy, made the call when he spoke to the press at Gomoa Ajumako, after the celebration of the Akwambo Kese Festival of the chiefs and people of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area at Ajumako.

The first-ever celebration organized by the Omanhene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, Obrempong Nyanful Kramph the Eleventh, aimed at soliciting support for the development of Gomoa.

It was under the theme: "Cultural and Education: Key to National Development."

Mr. Dery said the festival also enabled the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area to showcase its cultural values that could help transform the living conditions of the residents..

The Youth Leader said it also aimed at assisting in the creation of jobs and wealth for the unemployed youth.

He said as a Youth Leader, he was ready to pursue that agenda to bring foreign investors into both Agona and Gomoa, to reduce poverty in the area.

He urged the other traditional rulers to emulate the shining example of the Omanhene of the Ajumako Traditional Area, to promote socio-cultural and political development of the area.

Mr. Dery who is also a businessman, gave the assurance that as a youth leader, he would lead the crusade to initiate programmes and policies that could promote quality lifestyles of the people.

He stated as a youth leader, he would endeavour to pursue the needed policies to promote education, adding that education was key to human development.

The Youth Leader pledged that as a stalwart member of NDC in Agonaman and Gomoaman, he was ever ready to champion the cause to recapture more seats in the Central Region.

He urged the youth in the region to work harder than before, explain policies and programmes to the grassroots, on the need to retain NDC in 2016.

Mr Dery endorsed the Regional Chairman of NDC, Mr Bernard Allotey Jacob's assertion that everything possible would be done to sweep 20 parliamentary seats in the 2016 elections in the region.

Mr. Bright Botchwey, Gomoa East Constituency Communication Director disclosed that the Gomoa East had elected Mr Desmond De-Graft Kwesi Paitoo as the parliamentary candidate, and that he was credible and marketable to win the seat again in 2016.

He said many development projects NDC had executed could convince the people to vote massively for the party in the area.

Mr Botchwey said members of the Assembly had just endorsed the new DCE in the person of Mr Moses Jehu-Appiah, and hoped that all outstanding projects would be completed.
