The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Central Tongu Constituency Organizer, Mawutor Wugah has described as false claims made by a communicator of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that he was attacked at a radio station.

In a statement copied to MyNewsGh.com in reaction to the claim, he revealed that Catious Aziedu lied about being beaten at the radio station when nothing of its sort happened.

“Catious Aziedu was not attacked or manhandled as he portraying in the media. I personally went to the police station with Cautious and the said polling station executive when he Catious decided to report the incident to the police. He agreed he was not interested in the matter anymore since his mobile phone was given back to him”, he revealed in his statement.

I read with mixed feelings and great disappointment on Monday 2nd of September, 2019 a story published by your authoritative news website Mynewsgh.com and I would therefore like to seize this glorious opportunity to rebut and correct several misrepresentations and wrong impressions the story seeks to put across. It goes with the title, “Angry NPP Youth attack NDC Communicator at radio station”

On that fateful day of Saturday 31st August, 2019 , there was radio discussion on Dela radio 105.7 FM on their Saturday political show dubbed ” Hoododioo” hosted by Emmanuel K.M Atukpa. The topic for discussion was issues concerning government and those concerning NPP as a party. During the course of discussion, the Constituency Chairman, Amara Dorcoo and the Constituency Elections and Research officer, Kaka Nyanyuie phoned into the show and said damning things that could affect the fortunes of the party on live radio. It was at this instance that the District Chief Executive, Thomas Moore Zonyrah called into the show to correct the wrong impressions and misrepresentation of facts by the Constituency chairman and the Elections and research officer.

Notwithstanding, as the constituency organizer I went to a food joint in the premises of the said radio station to eat with some of my polling station executives from the funeral of the father of a polling station executive. Upon reaching the premises of the radio station, I saw in the premises of Dela radio, the Youth Organizer, the treasurer, the communications officer and some polling station executives from Mafi-Akyemfo entering into the studios of Dela radio and I confronted them. They told me emphatically that they were at the radio station to clarify issues raised by the District Chief Executive earlier .

I then followed them into the studios and saw the Constituency Secretaty who was on the show condemning and cautioning party executives not to be responding party issues on radio. I instructed all the executives present in the studio to go out and not participate in the discussion upon noticing that on that very day there was no NPP representative on the show.
