NDC Chairman On Bail

The Western Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been granted a ?250 million bail by an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing 958,500 litres of pre-mix fuel valued at more than ?1.5 billion.

He is also to produce a surety with a landed property. His plea was not taken even though the charges and facts of the case were read to him. Nana Asamoah was charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit crime, forgery of documents and stealing.

His alleged accomplices, Steven Osei Wusu, Evans Quaye, David Kobina and Robert Nartey are on the run and the police have mounted a search for them.
