NDC Approves More Candidates

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has approved the nomination of more candidates to contest the December 2000 parliamentary elections.

The list, which confirms 15 candidates, was contained in a release issued in Accra yesterday and signed by the party's General Secretary, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya.

The approved candidates include Mrs Nicol (new), Mampong Constituency and Akuoko Frimpong (new), Odotobri, all in the Ashanti Region.

For Brong Ahafo, the list named Hon. Nana Yaw Otoo for Sene and Mrs. Christine Atakora Mensah (new) for Asunafo North.

For the Central Region, the candidates are Hon. Florence Kumi, Assin North and Ms. Hannah Tetteh (new) for Awutu Senya, whilst for the Eastern Region, it named Mr. Kwakye Addo for Afram Plains South ands Grace Omaboe (new), Birth North.

In the Greater Accra Region, Hon. David Lamptey was retained for the Klottey Korle Constituency, whilst in the Northern Region, four candidates were approved.

They include, Dr. Tia Sugri (new), Nalerigu; N. N. Yakubu (new), Daboya/Damongo; Dr. Abdul Nashiru Iddrisu (new), Gukpegu/Sabongida and Alhaji Abubakari Sumani (new), Choggu/Tisshigu.

The Volta Region has Hon. Emil K. Brantuo for Buem and Mr. Yaw Sarfo (new), Krachi.
