NAFTI Alumni reject government nomination to Board

Anger and rejection is brewing among alumni of the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) following the appointment of Mr. Thyron Adosu to represent them on the board of the Institute.

A group of NAFTI alumni and students told the GNA that Mr. Adosu, popularly known as "TT" has never been a NAFTI student and had no reason whatsoever to represent them on the board.

"We therefore wish to let the government know this and also to ask Mr. Jake Obestebi-Lamptey, Minister of Information and Presidential Affairs to withdraw his name from the list."

The alumni held a meeting to deliberate over the matter. They said they were putting up a petition to government on the issue. "We are currently collecting signatures concerning the matter and hope that the government will act quickly on the matter," adding that, " if the government insists on having him on the board, he can come representing a different body, otherwise we will resist him fiercely."

Government announced members for the Board of NAFTI and the Ghana Institute of Journalism last week and charged them to work hard to lift the image of the country.
