NADMO presents mats and blankets to mosque

Koforidua, July 17, GNA - The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), on Friday, presented 150 mats and 60 blankets to the Koforidua Central Mosque as part of its disaster prevention efforts.

Presenting the items after prayers, the Eastern Regional Co-ordinator of NADMO, Mr Ransford Owusu-Boakye, said soon Moslems would start their Ramadan fasting and many worshipers would be visiting the mosque for prayers and to listen to the reading of the Koran.

He explained that the mats were to help the management of the mosque to create spaces for worship within the main yard of the mosque to avoid over crowding and spreading of diseases.

Umar Farouk Ahmed, Deputy Eastern Regional Chief Imam, who received the items, on behalf of the Moslem community, thanked the government for the support and offered prayers for peace and development of the country.
