NADMO official wades into GoldBod sponsorship debate

Harrison Kojo Abbah, Communication Officer of NADMO, has stated that attempts by some NDC party members to drag the CEO of Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, into the debate surrounding the organisation’s sponsorship of Nana Aba Anamoah’s Women of Valour event is unfair.

The sponsorship of Nana Aba Anamoah’s Women of Valour event by GoldBod Jewellery has sparked reactions among some grassroots members of the NDC, as many have raised questions about priorities and fairness.

Contributing to the ongoing debate in an interview with Onua FM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Abbah called for calm among party loyalists.

He further criticised attempts to involve party leaders unnecessarily in the controversy.

“I have noticed attempts to drag my boss, Sammy Gyamfi, into this matter, and I believe that is unfair,” he added.

He cautioned that if they don’t exercise restraint, it could inadvertently taint the image of the party.

“Any grassroots member of the party who raises concerns about Nana Aba Anamoah has every right to do so. However, it is important to recognise that many of the individuals attaching themselves to this issue often have their own agendas. If we are not careful, by the time the truth emerges, the party itself could be in the gutters with vultures feeding on it,” Abbah said.

He stressed the importance of protecting the party and recalled the challenges faced when it was out of power, highlighting Nana Aba’s significant influence.

“We all know how difficult things were when we had no power, and we also know the significant influence Nana Aba Anamoah carries. If such an issue has surfaced, we need to remain calm and measured in how we engage with our leaders,” he explained.

While frustrations have surfaced, party communicators are urging calm and caution in handling the issue.
