National Disaster Management Organization(NADMO) Directors in the Eastern Region have threatened to embark on indefinite strike soon.

This comes after the Acting Municipal and District Directors in the Easter Region says if they are not paid by July 5, 2019, they will hit the streets of the Eastern Regional capital to register their displeasure.

However, the government owes them 18 months of outstanding arrears.

The aggrieved workers say their meagre salary, as well as allowances, are given to them, have left them perpetually assigned to hardship.

The workers believe their working conditions are very poor and want the government to improve the condition to boost their commitment towards the work.

Speaking to Kingdom FM in Koforidua, Mr Appienti Emmanuel -Spokesperson for the aggrieved NADMO Directors explained that since assuming office on January 16, 2018, after receiving their appointment letters on December 15, 2017 none of the Directors have been paid his/her salary and neither have they been provided with the condition of service.
