The head of the Narcotics Control Board, Yaw Akrasi Sarpong has threatened to sue NPP firebrand Kennedy Agyapong for allegedly describing him as a drug dealer.
The Assin North MP is reported to have stated on his radio station, Oman FM that the NACOB boss was sometime arrested with drugs.
But Mr. Akrasi Sarpong in an interview with Joy FM denied the allegations and stated that he will take legal action against the “reckless” Kennedy Agyapong.
“The owner or whatever of Oman FM, Kennedy Agyapong said that I have been arrested with drugs before” Mr. Akrasi Sarpong said adding that “this Kennedy Agyapong man talks recklessly and later goes to apologise”.
“I will take this matter to court” the NACOB boss added.
He further slammed the lawmaker and stated that Mr. Agyapong lacks integrity and has no moral right to talk about the integrity of people.
“When it comes to integrity Kennedy Agyapong comes nowhere near my integrity” Mr. Akrasi Sarpong said.
He also added that he may be forced to quit his post since the recent drugs that were seized at the Heathrow Airport from Ghana has marred the image of the Narcotics Control Board.
According to him, the actions of his men have failed him and might lead to his resignation.
“It’s a big dent...I take personal responsibility and who said I am not doing anything about it". Mr Akrasi Sarpong said.
