Thirty-Eight (38) year old widow of Fuseini Masahudu who was gunned down on Sunday at Kakoshi near Salaga in the heat of reprisal attacks between two rival chieftaincy factions, maintains that her husband died in the shooting incident

The worried widow is demanding justice for her husband’s death which occurred at the farming community near Salaga in the East Gonja district of the Northern Region.

One person was killed, sixteen injured and properties estimated at several thousands of Ghana cedis destroyed after unknown men armed with high-power rifles shot sporadically at spectators watching a football match near old Kafabar palace

The attack according to Police preliminary investigations, was linked to a protracted chieftaincy strife between the Kafarba and the Kalampor communities

Irate youth of Kafabar armed with deadly weapons also launched a broad day attack on the Kalampor community which is believed to have carried out the attack

Sunday’s gun battle led to the death of Fuseini and many others according to community sources

But Police in the region flatly denied the counter attack insisting only one minor died in the attack

However, the wife of the deceased Samira Fuseini said her husband died from multiple gun wounds when the Kafarba gunmen invaded their community

Samaira told Eliasu Tanko in an exclusive interview that the reprisal attack took place early morning when they were no security presence at the Kakoshi communities

She said her husband who left behind seven children was buried Monday dawn in accordance with the Islamic custom at where he was killed because the body was decomposed and could not be conveyed to the cemetery

According to the widow the police are denying the report because of “shamefulness” for their inability to protect lives and properties at both three feuding communities

She is therefore demanding justice for the soul of her murdered husband.
